Ethernet/IP Connections in a Logix System

One of the more frequent questions I get is, “How many connections will this system use if I go with Ethernet/IP as the network?” It really isn’t that hard to figure it up. I put a couple of things togther to help you do the calculation. The Slideshare presentation gives an overview of how you manually do the calculation and includes links to all of the relevant literature on the Rockwell Automation website. This YouTube Video is a short demo of the Ethernet/IP Capacity Tool which is the easy way to do the calculations. Let me know if you can’t get to the video or the presentation and I’ll send you a copy.
